Rebuild the Internet:

For my Rebuild the Internet Project, I chose to visually represent the internet as a human brain. The internet is a large, constantly changing, source of information. Much like the brain, the internet can store information, trigger different ideas and multi-task. I pictured the internet as the brain firing all synapsis with sparks of information. Ideas flow through your mind like information flows through the vast internet.  In Small Pieces Loosely Joined by David Weinberger, he describes the Web as “the most complex network ever created. It is by many orders of magnitude the largest collection of human writings and works in history.” This relates to my project because the human brain is the most complex organ in the human body and serves as the largest collection of ideas and thoughts. The book also talks about the virtual world versus the real world. David Weinberger states  “understanding how to coordinate the two worlds, one real and one virtual”. This also relates to my project as the brain has two worlds, one based on the reality around and the other in your dreams. The brain can create unlimited ideas, both realistic and fantastical, similar to the virtual worlds found online.
